Our Hammered Copper sheet is expertly crafted from C106-grade copper, renowned for its 99.9% purity and striking mirror finish. Each sheet is hand-beaten by traditional UK coppersmiths, resulting in a truly unique and authentic pattern that adds timeless elegance to any project.

Grade and Beating Process:
Unlike machine-beaten alternatives, our Hammered Copper sheet features a beautifully random dimple pattern with subtle variations in size and depth. This artisanal process ensures each sheet is one of a kind. At 0.7mm thick, this sheet represents the maximum thickness suitable for hand-beating, offering durability and workability. In contrast, machine-beaten copper is typically thinner and lacks the charm of hand-crafted detail.

Fabrication and Handling:
The hand-beating process may slightly stretch the sheet, resulting in a gentle curve. This can be easily corrected by rolling the sheet flat or securing it to a backing board such as MDF or plywood, which ensures stability and ease of use. For smaller items, the curve is usually negligible. The sheet is also well-suited for folding and bonding, making it ideal for a variety of creative and practical applications.

Tarnishing and Maintenance:
To protect the mirror finish and hammered texture, the sheet comes with a peelable plastic film. Once removed, the copper surface will naturally tarnish over time, developing a rich patina. If a pristine look is preferred, tarnish can be removed using Brasso or similar copper cleaning products. To extend the time between maintenance and preserve the finish, we recommend applying Renaissance Wax, which adds an additional protective layer.
