Perforated Aluminium Sheet
Our Perforated Aluminium sheet is made from 1050A-grade aluminium, a versatile and lightweight material with a 33% open area. Available in options with either 5mm or 3mm diameter holes, this sheet offers exceptional functionality and flexibility for a variety of applications.
Grade:
Crafted from 1050A aluminium, this perforated sheet retains the same fabrication-friendly properties as our plain aluminium sheets. It is easy to manipulate and work with, making it suitable for professional and DIY projects alike.
Weight:
Thanks to its 33% open area, the perforated sheet is exceptionally lightweight.
- 1mm Thickness: Weighs approximately 1.8kg per square meter.
- 2mm Thickness: Weighs approximately 3.6kg per square meter.
This lightweight design ensures easy handling, transportation, and installation, making it an ideal choice for projects requiring reduced weight.
Fabrication:
Perforated aluminium sheets can be assembled using small nuts and bolts or bonded with epoxy adhesives. Note that cut sizes may have sharp edges where the cuts intersect the holes; this is a normal characteristic of perforated materials. For safety, edges can be folded back on themselves by approximately 10mm, or plastic clip-on edge trims can be applied.
Applications of Perforated Aluminium Sheet:
Perforated Aluminium sheets are incredibly versatile and can be used for:
- Ventilation and Vermin Control: The 3mm diameter hole sheet is particularly effective for allowing airflow while keeping out small pests.
- Models and Prototypes: The 1mm sheet can be easily manipulated by hand for mock-ups, prototypes, and simulations.
- Art and Design Projects: Serves as a sturdy skeleton for building creative installations and artwork.
- Light and Sound Regulation: Perforated sheets are widely used for controlling light diffusion and acoustics in functional and decorative designs.
Additional Notes:
Perforated aluminium combines durability, light weight, and functionality, making it an excellent choice for both practical and creative applications. Its ease of fabrication and versatility make it a popular material for architects, designers, and hobbyists alike.
